Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do caregivers have to wear masks? What about the client?
Our caregivers wear gloves and masks and are practicing current infection prevention and control measures at all times. We also advise that everyone in the client's home follow current guidelines regarding appropriate distancing and Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE") for indoor use,
-
Do you provide masks and gloves for your caregivers?
Caregivers provide their own masks and gloves for travelling to and from the client’s location. We request that clients maintain a supply of Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) at their home for use by the caregivers as needed.
-
Do your caregivers take public transit to get to their clients?
Yes, many do take public transit but they maintain hygiene and sanitation practices such as wearing masks and using hand sanitizers while they do so.
-
Do you send caregivers to facilities such as retirement homes, long-term care or hospitals?
Yes, we can help wherever a person calls home, whether it is a house, apartment, retirement residence or Long Term Care facility. We also work closely with our community partner hospitals to offer services there such as overnight sitting for either short or longer stays.
We balance our staff assignments such that caregivers do not go to multiple facilities to minimize the risk of community transmission. All caregivers to the facilities are required to follow public health measures (e.g., active self-screening, physical distancing, hand hygiene, masking for source control). In addition, we liaise with our community partners to ensure our staff follow the individual location's own COVID screening and testing protocols.
